FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 8-8-98

Steven Spielberg is responsible for many great movies, most recently Saving Private Ryan which shows the horror of war with near reality. Perhaps this movie will give peace a chance by showing just how indecent war really is. Schindler's List showed that kindness is possible even in the midst of bigoted social pathology. ET showed us that aliens can be nice. Close Encounters of the Third Kind showed that amazing visits are possible, however unlikely they may seem. The Color Purple does real justice to Alice Walker's story. Amistad brought black slave history to life. Jurassic Park brought Michael Chrichton's thrilling dinosaurs to life. Jaws lifted scary big teeth to new heights. Raiders of the Lost Ark brought classic adventurism back to life in a big way. Spielberg's list continues. For making dreams work, peace more likely, tolerance more universal and humanity more humane, Steven Spielberg has been named Futuresaver of the Week. Click the link below for more information.
