Keith Ellison is the new Congressman for the 5th District of Minnesota. He wants an immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq and has opposed the war every step of the way from before it began to today (my position exactly). He knows that the U.S. occupation has made things worse every step of the war so that withdrawal is the first requirement to achieve peace and a stable government in Iraq and that construction of U.S. bases must end. Iraq must choose its own government with no pressure from the USA. The USA can help Iraq but only if Iraqis make all decisions and ask for specific help. He wants universal single-payer health care in the USA (my position exactly). He wants environmental protection and improvement to be the #1 policy objective (my position exactly). He wants stronger, better and more affordable public education available to all our children (my position exactly). He wants an end to all discrimination including sexual orientation (my position exactlly). His views on law enforcement, community action, individual rights, root causes of crime, war on drugs, sex education and abortion are the same as mine.
