Joe Courtney is the new Congressman for the Second District of Connecticut. He helped make the reduction of tuition costs for college students a reality. He won by only 83 votes which demonstrates the value of each vote. He opposes the Bush Iraq war escalation and favors a political solution leading to an early end of the Iraq war. The root causes of violence in Iraq must be ended so that all kinds of violence can be ended, the American troops brought home and Iraqi sectarian strife ended. Diplomacy and reconstruction not war and destruction and death and injuries. Iraqis need to create their own form of distribution of oil and other resources in a democratic form of government that they themselves create without outside interference. Surge justice and cooperation not war. Create internal negotiation not external meddling. He knows that the environment must be preserved by cooperative efforts. He knows the minimum wage must be increased, education improved and dependence on fossil fuels decreased. He knows that the Scooter Libby jury verdict confirms the deception and misinformation characteristics of the Bush Administration in its years in office especially as it relates to the Iraq war.
