Brad Henry is the Governor of the State of Oklahoma. He endorsed Barack Obama for President. He is supporting legislation to reduce school dopouts through graduation coaches and increased teacher pay; research and job creation by funding a Bioenergy Center EDGE endowment, increasing OCAST funding and completing a Native American Cultural Center; improving health care with a consumer price information website for prescription drugs and increasing physical activity for public school students; improve Public Safety with a better corrections system emphasizing expanded facilities and a Smart on Crime strategy using drug and mental health courts and substance abuse treatment programs; better government accountability with increase efficiencies and a better rainy day fund. He believes Senator Obama is the best presidential candidate to unite our nation and move beyond divisiveness and partisan skirimishes to solve the challenges of today and tomorrow. Henry is the first Governor to appoint an African American to the Oklahoma Supreme Court. In the Democratic primary election in 2006 Henry recieved 86 % of the vote, a higher percentage than any othe gubernatorial candidate in almost 50 years.
