Larry Kissell is the new Democratic Congressman for the 8th district of North Carolina. Kissell is for an educator expense deduction for materials teachers buy for their classrooms, Credit Card Holder Bill of Rights to protect cardholders from unfair business practices, creating jobs by providing improved infrastructure, stopping Wall Street bailout funding, Homeland Security officer uniforms made in America, Commodity Exchange boards with public members, rewarding home owners who pay mortgages on time with a tax break, defeating a Congressional pay raise, investigating mistreatment of soldiers, helping people keep their homes out of foreclosure, cutting through red tape at government agencies, helping to stage our way out of Iraq and finish our mission in Afghanistan, nearly a quarter of a billion dollars of the American Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act will be targeted to public schools in North Carolina's Eighth Congressional District, An increase in Title I grants which provide funds for programs in high-poverty areas which assist disadvantaged children who strugle to meet academic standards, increased support for special education programs, the American Economic Recovery Reinvestment Package which offers much-needed relief for Main Street by creating jobs and cutting taxes.
