John Adler is the new Democratic Congressman for the 3rd district of New Jersey, replacing Republican Jim Saxton who resigned for health reasons. Adler is the first 3rd district elected Democratic Congressman since 1882. Adler is for stabilizing our economy and creating good paying middle class jobs, responsible regulatory reform, lower middle/low income taxes, renewing our economy with investments in science/clean energy/health care/transportation/water infrastructure, reforming credit card practices and curbing predatory lending for mortgages. He is for a stable retirement without diminishing Medicare and Social Security and private investments. He is for affordable health care/prescription drugs for all. He is for ending our dependance on foreign oil and for improving our environment. He believes education is key to strengthening our economy and our middle class and that we should fund No Child Left Behind and improve its testing and that we should make college more affordable. He wants to end the war in Iraq and take our country in a fundamentally new direction which includes handing our responsibility to stabilize Iraq over to the Iraqi government and to its neighbors. This would allow us to initiate serious diplomatic efforts with Iraq and their neighbors to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East.
