Steve Driehaus is the new Democratic Congressman for the 1st district of Ohio. Driehaus believes that fixing the economy requires smart sound investments in transportation infrastructure, manufacturing and clean energy development. We need smart/clean housing, smart/clean manufacturing, smart/clean transportation and a smart/clean surrounding environment. We need oversight and accountability to fix and improve our financial system so that we can stop creating recessions and depressions and gross pollutants and unfair practices and predatory irresponsible behavior. He supported the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act which cut middle income taxes and started repairs on our crumbling infrastructure and helped local governments to provide basic services. He also supported Helping Families Save Their Homes Act to help those struggling to stay in their homes. He introduced the Municipal Financial Regulation Act to insure that local governments do not fall victim to bad financial advice. He wants to insure that risky lending, unregulated financial products and irresponsible practices do not cause a new crisis in the future. He will not give up the fight for better healtcare until every American has quality affordable healthcare.
