Kofi Annan is an ideal peacemaker who negotiated peace between the US (& others) and Iraq. He is perhaps the best Secretary-General the UN has ever had. He has brought the peaceful resolution capability of the UN to new heights and has set a marvelous precedent for the solution of future international quarrels. He is a native of Ghana and of the Fante people. He was educated in Ghana, the US and Geneva. For being the best peacemaker today's world has, Kofi Annan has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
